Enter a Safe Space

Emotion Regulation for the Neurodiverse, Anxious, and Depressed Mind

I’m SO Glad You’re Here!

Hi! I’m Emily. And something you should probably know about me is I genuinely LOVE being a therapist—but long before I ever became one, I was a client myself. I went to therapy for the first time as a teenager and quickly learned how powerful a safe, caring therapeutic relationship can be. Honestly? I absolutely adored my therapist and looked forward to our time together—so much so that it made me realize that was exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up.

As an adult, that therapist—along with others who have supported me through different seasons of life—has continued to offer what matters most: a safe, nonjudgmental, and deeply connecting space. Those relationships have changed and continue to change my life.

I became a therapist because I want others to experience that same sense of safety, understanding, and empowerment. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can show up as you are and begin to heal at your own pace. And even though I now sit in the therapist chair, I know from years on the couch that life is hard—that therapy isn’t always easy or comfortable, and it can  still be deeply meaningful and transformative.

Now, what exactly are we doing?

Life has a way of throwing obstacles and uncertainties that we might feel unequipped to face. Strength, encouragement, and a way out can be found in having someone to process these struggles with us.

Emily specializes in helping individuals (ages 10 and up) strengthen emotional regulation, communication, and resilience during life transitions, with particular experience supporting neurodivergent clients (ASD) and those impacted by trauma. She also works with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship and family challenges, and adjustment-related stress that often go hand in hand with these experiences.

Emily’s desire is to come alongside you on your journey while navigating these challenges. Using neurodivergent-affirming certification, DBT trained, trauma informed, and grief training methods, she weaves evidence-based strategies with empathy and collaboration.

Explore new skills to grow.

Emily’s heart for therapy is to offer a welcoming, judgment-free space where you can take a breath, step outside the patterns that have kept you feeling stuck, and begin to explore new ways of thinking, coping, and living. Her hope is to walk alongside you as you build tools that truly support your well-being and goals.

Clients under Emily’s care feel valued as she spends crucial time understanding your story, while listening to, empathizing with, and learning about your personal experiences. Emily believes in providing clients with the means of creating lasting change. She has been serving the Fort Worth, Texas community in person and is now based in Frederick, Maryland offering virtual therapy to residents of both Texas and Maryland.

Whether you’re navigating a life transition, grief, anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder, trauma, or relationship and family challenges, Emily will work with you to build emotional regulation, healthier communication, resilience after loss, and self-empowerment in your internal and external experiences.

Let Me Guess...

Let Me Guess...

  • Do others describe you as calm, capable, or “handling it well,” while inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or on edge—constantly monitoring yourself and your environment?

  • You care deeply about the people around you, yet you often find yourself worrying about how you’re perceived or whether you’re doing enough to be “okay” in others’ eyes.

  • You’re highly self-aware, but still feel stuck—like you understand why you feel this way, yet can’t seem to regain a sense of control or momentum in your life.

  • You’re great at anticipating others’ needs, reading between the lines, or masking to fit in—but struggle to identify or voice what you need, especially in relationships.

  • You put a lot of energy into functioning, coping, and keeping things together for others, yet inside you feel empty, disconnected, or unsure why it doesn’t bring real relief or joy.

  • You feel worn down by grief, transitions, or emotional labor that goes unseen—like your efforts, pain, or adjustments aren’t fully noticed or acknowledged.

  • You’re tired of repeating the same relational patterns: feeling misunderstood, emotionally dismissed, or questioning whether your needs and experiences are “too much.”
